Our Story
Kono & Co. initially started by creating beautiful modern friendship bracelets that were inspired by my mother. Back in junior high, my mom used to make me bracelets with my name or a word on them. She cut out rectangle shapes from video cassette covers for the base and started to string colorful pieces around and around, layering them so carefully. I started to help her make more for my friends. Around this time, mom's cancer came back, but this gave us an outlet to bond together and enjoy each other's company, instead of dwelling on the negatives. She passed in year 2000, and also passed along some great memories together.
This company started with making modern friendship bracelets inspired by mom while I was pregnant, but has evolved with my inspiration by my side, KONO. Kono is my beautiful daughter. Being a mother totally has changed how I like to wear my jewelry. The collection we have today were created with three words in mind.
